JUST IN: End In Sight To Ondo South Black Out

The end of the 12 years old total blackout of 95% of Ondo South Senatorial District is in sight, according to Engineer Ife Oyedele, the Executive Director of Niger Power Holding Company. Oyedele said this at an interactive session he had with newsmen in Akure, Ondo State.
The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo is billed to commission series of completed electricity projects in Ondo State at a date yet to be announced. The project of restoration of electricity supply to communities such as Ajagba, Igbokoda, Okitipupa and Igodan Lisa (OSUSTECH) has been completed, according to Oyedele. He further added that rehabilitation of Ore- Okitipupa 33KV line had equally been completed.
Engineer Oyedele also said work is on-going on rehabilitation of Okiipupa to Ilutitun 11KV through Ikoya, Rehabilitation of Igbotako to Ilutitun  33kv line through Ijuodo, and the rehabilitation of Ore to Irele 33kv line.
He said residents of the southern part of Ondo state who have been in total darkness for the past 12 years would soon have cause to smile.
While saying the electricity restoration projects are wholly efforts of federal government, Oyedele assured that the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo will soon come to commission them.
Over 1,000 communities in the six local government areas of the district had been without power supply following an alleged indebtedness of the electricity consumers in the senatorial district.
