In a very clear show of the endemic intolerance within the fold of the APC, a senior media aide to the incumbent governor of the state, Mr. Gani Utako Mohammed Ajowa stormed out of a live radio program on Breeze FM Akure when confronted by the representative of the opposition PDP, Hon Leye Igbabo on his lack of clearcut commitment to a political party. Hon Igbabo, while answering to a question posed to the senior media aide on the achievements of the APC government in the last three years, alleged that the media aide (who was a former member of the PDP) and had severally made very inflammatory comments against the former governor, Dr. Mimiko, was known to have been unstable in his political culture.
In responding, Mr. Gani Mohammed alleged that the PDP representative was bad mannered and should not have addressed him considering his position as a senior media aide to a governor. He thereafter, made several attempts to attack the gentleman colleague from the PDP before storming out of the station.
Video evidence of the altercations showing the media aide storming out and raining invectives on the Assistant Director of Media and Publicity for the PDP, was made available to newsmen. When contacted, Hon Igbabo, a former aide to Dr. Mimiko told newsmen that Mr Gani Mohammed was highly intolerant and displayed crass manners not fit for a government representative. Mr Igbabo also said he was highly displeased by the action of Mr Mohammed whom he opined may not be well versed and knowledgeable in Yoruba language, custom and tradition. He also accused Mr Mohammed of not being mentally capable of handling the same measure of opposition as he was known to have given the former government in the state through deliberate falsehoods and propaganda.
Mr. Mohammed was not available for comment as at the time of filing this report.
