#Ondo2024: Mafo Emerges Most Popular PDP Aspirant - Opinion Poll

John Ola Mafo, a governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has emerged the winner of the second part of online poll conducted by Starnews NG to test the popularity and acceptance of the seven contenders under the platform of the PDP in Ondo state, ahead of the party’s gubernatorial primary.


Mafo defeated his closest rival, Bamidele Akingboye, and 5 other aspirants in the popular poll that ended 1pm on Tuesday.


The seven PDP contenders were: Sola Ebiseni, Adeolu Akinwunmi, Agboola Ajayi, Bosun Arebuwa, John Ola Mafo, Bamiidele Akingboye, and Kolade Akinjo.


Starnews NG reports that the online poll for the PDP gubernatorial aspirants lasted for 5 days.


At the end of the poll, below are the results as automatically populated by the plugins.


Sola Ebiseni scored 11%, which is 478 votes.


Adeolu Akinwunmi got 8% amounting to 356 votes.


Agboola Ajayi had 9% which equals to 400 votes.


Bosun Arebuwa secured 12%, which is equivalent to 509 votes.


John Ola Mafo had 29% of the total votes cast, which amounts to 1,200 votes.


Bamiidele Akingboye scored 18% which is 817 votes.


Kolade Akinjo got 8%, which is equivalent to 339 votes.


The total number of online voters is 4,100.


In summary, John Ola Mafo, emerged winner of the poll having scored 1,200 votes, representing 29% of the total number of votes cast.


The primary election of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, is fixed for April 25, while the governorship election is slated for Saturday, November 16, 2024.
