Honorable Timothy Ayesuwa, a former House of Assembly candidate in the 2023 General Elections has described late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola(GCFR) as a dogged and rugged hero who paid the ultimate price for democracy in Nigeria. This is contained in a statement released to newsmen on Wednesday morning in Akure, the Ondo State capital, and signed by him to commemorate Nigeria's Democracy Day.
"I, Hon. Timothy Ayesuwa (Timo Akewi) felicitate with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) and Nigerians all over the world as we celebrate Nigeria's 2024 Democracy Day." the statement read.
"Today, I commemorate the doggedness and ruggedness of our heroes past especially our Martyr, Late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola (GCFR) who believe, agitate and fought endlessly for democracy in our dear Nigeria." he added.
"The significance of celebrating this Silver Jubilee is to reflect on where we are coming from as a nation and moving towards a better Nigeria holding up high the dignity of our dear country."
"My utmost prayer is the sustainability of democracy in our dear motherland so as to foster development, growth, equity, fairness, justice and make our Nigeria a sane society to live for all and Sundry." the statement concluded.
