#Ondo2024: Ayedatiwa Suffering From Poverty Of Ideas - Agboola Ajayi

The PDP Gubernatorial candidate, His Excellency, Agboola Ajayi has accused his All Progressive Congress counterpart, Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa of suffering from poverty of ideas over his continuing lack luster approach to governance since he accidentally became chief helmsman in Ondo State.

The remark is contained in a statement issued in Akure on Thursday , by Ayo Fadaka, Head of Media Group of the PDP candidate , in apparent reaction, to a statement credited to the Aiyedatiwa's Campaign Group's abusive remark following Ajayi's condemnation of the Governor's role in the recent court ruling, anuling the creation of LCDA's in the state.

Accusing the APC candidate of "lacking managerial initiatives and competence" the PDP candidate said Aiyedatiwa's submission that he allowed the court to sack the new councils, because he can recreate them, is "the height of managerial deficicieny predicated on a glaring lack of requisite administrative experience required to function as Governor.

According to Fadaka, Aiyedatiwa's excuse for allowing the litigation against the LCDA's is not only lame, but also exposed his cowardly and anti developmental stance occasioned by a lack of vision, propelled by incurable hatred for his late boss and benefactor who initiated the creation of LCDAs which he signed to law in his twilight days.
Ayedatiwa's pettiness and inexperience blurred his vision to appreciate opportunities the LCDA's would have provided in bringing development to the grassroots.
A competent Governor would rather have make justifiable adjustments as dictated by people's desires and demands to accommodate agitations arising from the LCDA law to amend it, rather than to acquiesce to conspiratorial actions to destroy the exercise.

"It is only a petty wayfarer oblivious of the invested efforts, time and resources that went into the exercise that will threat as inconsequential an action that does not align with his desires, when in actual fact he occupies a position to dictate an amendment.

Also reacting to the APC's candidate's allegation of PDP leaders breeding thugs, Fadaka said "we are experieced politicians, grounded in our communities, pursuing over the years the need for absolute good conduct in politiking and sustaining the peace and progress of our environment. We are however not oblivious of Ayedatiwa's trademark of perpetration of political violence against his co contestants for the APC ticket before and during their primary election, we however warn that he desist from travelling on that route any further as we assure that our seeming civility is not an act of cowardice. We urge the APC candidate not to push us towards the 1983 scenario in Ondo State because of his ill conceived desperation to hold on to power without merit will be adamantly resisted and vanquished by all the good people of Ondo State. We demand that he demobilise all those hitmen he mobilized to prosecute his primary election forthwith."
"We also call on community and religious leaders to impress on Ayedatiwa that violence breeds no gain or good as it is always counterproductive, the APC should in all good purpose seek to work honestly in pursuing its goal and stop boasting about an intent to compromise the election as that is a goal that will be unattainable, we are irrevocably committed to making our votes count, and that is a task we will vigorously pursue."

"The amateurish attempt at diverting people's focus from the real breeder of thugs in the state has failed, just as the attempt to continue to hold the state in the jugular by a failed government will ultimately fail in November" the statement registered.
