Ilutitun Youth Development Forum under the leadership of Comrade Omokunle Akintade has demanded for an immediate and unconditional release of the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate Kunle Ajayi by the Nigerian Police.
Kunle Ajayi, Oluwatobi Akinkuotu who both are from Ilutitun, Patrick Owolabi. Kolawole Kumuyi, Olalekan Oladehinde and other demonstrators were arrested yesterday in Akure ondo state capital during #EndbadGovernance protest.
Reacting to the arrest of Wizeman and other peaceful protesters, the Ilutitun Youth Development Forum, in a statement issued by its president, Comrade Omokunle Akintade, described their arrest as an abuse of fundamental rights and rape of the tenets of democracy.
Akintade said "The resort to the arrest of peaceful protesters by men of the Nigerian Police in Akure is shameful and disgraceful.
"We, the entire leadership of Ilutitun Youth Development Forum condemn the oppressive and repressive action of the Nigerian Police in arresting peaceful protesters".
“We hereby demand that anything short of immediate and unconditional release of Kunle Wizeman Ajayi and the rest will be met with more massive civil unrest".
"We also call on Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, “as the Chief Security Officer of the State, to whom the Commissioner of Police within the state is constitutionally responsible on matters of security, to order the release of Kunle Ajayi and other demonstrators unconditionally, as they pose no security threat to the state.
