
The South West chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed condolences to the party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, following the death of his mother, Alhaja Basiru.
In a statement issued by the Zonal Secretary of the party, Hon. Alfred Femi Aluko, the South West APC said it received the news of the matriarch’s passing with deep sadness, describing the loss as a painful moment for the Basiru family and the party.
The statement noted that Alhaja Basiru played a significant role in shaping the life and values of the APC National Secretary, particularly in the areas of service, dedication and integrity, which it said have continued to define his public and political career.
According to the party, the late Alhaja’s legacy of love, guidance and moral upbringing would continue to live on through the accomplishments and contributions of her son to the party and the nation.
The South West APC said its Zonal Executive Committee, leaders and members stand in solidarity with Senator Basiru and his family during the period of mourning, praying for the repose of the deceased’s soul.
The party also prayed that Almighty Allah grants the late Alhaja Basiru Aljannah Firdaus and gives the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
It further prayed for Senator Basiru’s continued good health, long life and wisdom as he discharges his responsibilities to the ruling party and the country.
