The Director-General of the BTO for PBAT ’27 Support Group, Ogbeni Adesuyi Gideon Adojutelegan, has condemned reports alleging that some appointees of the Ondo State Government staged a protest against the political interests of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement issued on Monday in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Adojutelegan described the reported action, if confirmed, as an unfortunate display of ingratitude, stressing that President Tinubu’s leadership and support were instrumental to the emergence of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, the President deserves the loyalty and respect of all party members and stakeholders, particularly those who have benefited from his leadership and political goodwill.
He recalled that when President Tinubu endorsed Aiyedatiwa as the APC governorship candidate in Ondo State, party members accepted the decision without protests or public opposition. The support group maintained that the same spirit of unity, discipline and respect for leadership should continue to guide members of the ruling party.
“We recall that when President Tinubu’s decision on the APC governorship ticket was announced, party members across Ondo State stood firmly behind it without protest. The same respect and unity must continue to guide our actions,” the statement read.
Adojutelegan urged APC members to verify the facts surrounding the reported incident and avoid actions capable of creating divisions within the party, especially as preparations intensify for future political contests.
He also called on party faithful to remain committed to the ideals of loyalty, gratitude and collective responsibility, insisting that the strength of the APC lies in its unity and unwavering support for President Tinubu’s leadership.
The BTO for PBAT ’27 Support Group reaffirmed its commitment to promoting cohesion within the APC and mobilising support for the party and President Tinubu, urging members to place the collective interest of the party above personal or factional considerations.
