ABUJA – The Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, has distanced himself from campaign posters and other promotional materials circulating on social media and other platforms, describing them as unauthorised.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Assistant on Media, Segun Micheal, the minister said he neither approved nor authorised the production or circulation of the campaign materials suggesting that he was pursuing a political ambition.
Olawande, however, expressed appreciation to friends, associates and supporters for the goodwill and confidence reposed in him but stressed that his attention remains firmly on his responsibilities as Minister of Youth Development.
According to the statement, the minister is fully committed to the mandate entrusted to him by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and has no intention of being distracted by political speculation.
He therefore urged members of the public to disregard the posters and any related narratives, insisting that they do not reflect his position or current priorities.
The statement added that Olawande remains focused on advancing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda through policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare and development of Nigerian youths.
The clarification comes amid the circulation of campaign posters across social media, which had fuelled speculation over the minister’s political intentions.
