Warning: Potential Threat to Public Safety in Ondo State by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa
It has come to our attention that certain individuals, purportedly acting under the directive of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, are planning to unleash terror on the people and residents of Ondo State, particularly targeting members of the APC. One of these individuals, fearing the magnitude of damage they are directed to unleash and the potential consequences of their intended actions, has bravely come forward to expose this disturbing plan.
According to information gathered, the plan involves targeting any member of the party who is not wearing a designated tag associated with Governor Aiyedatiwa. This alarming revelation follows previous incidents of violence perpetrated by thugs allegedly loyal to the governor during the recent visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Akure.
We urge the security operatives to conduct a thorough investigation into these reports to prevent any harm to the lives and safety of the people of Ondo State. It is imperative that measures be taken swiftly to ensure that the upcoming internal election of the party proceeds peacefully and without incident.
We implore all residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities. Let us stand united against any attempt to disrupt the peace and stability of our state.
The safety and well-being of every citizen are of paramount importance, and we call on the security agencies to uphold their duty to protect and serve the people. We trust in their capabilities to address this potential threat and safeguard the democratic process in Ondo State.

NANS Passes Vote Of Confidence On Olawande, Asefon
Members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), led by Comr. Lucky Emonefe, GCNS, in their large numbers, converged at the Office of the Secretary to The Government of The Federation to pass a vote of confidence on the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students Engagement, Hon. Sunday Asefon and the Minister of State for Youth Development, Hon. Ayo Olawande. This is as a result of a politically motivated kangaroo protest staged against them yesterday by some unknown hoodlums who were clamouring for their removal without any tangible reason.
NANS leaders and members alike, from over 15 states of the federation, converged today in their numbers to express their displeasure at the politically-sponsored protest staged yesterday to merely tarnish the images of the SSA and the Honorable Minister without proof(s) of negligence or incompetence.
Hon. Sunday Asefon has been up and doing since he assumed office. He has brought several developments and initiatives that has changed the face of the Nigerian Students Community and there are programs still lined up for the growth and empowerment of Nigerian Students.
Hon. Ayo Olawande on the other hand has toured almost all the states of the federation, creating awareness for youth inclusivity and job opportunities for the Nigerian Youth via collaborations and rigorous engagements of individual stakeholders and corporate organizations across board. Being a youth, he knows where the shoe pinches and he has never left any stone unturned in bettering the lives of the Nigerian Youth since he was appointed.
As a result of this, it was disheartening, undermining and demoralizing for Nigerian Students to wake up yesterday to see some miscreants under the guise of students staging a protest and racketing for the removal of two of the best hands in the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu with the aim of impressing their paymasters who we learnt were around yesterday in preparation for their NEC meeting at the Wadata House today.
We hereby want to unequivocally assert that Hon. Sunday Asefon and Hon. Ayo Olawande are as efficient as time at everything they do and their effectiveness in carrying out their duties are unparalleled.
Conclusively, the leadership of the Nigerian Students, NANS, with today’s protests and many testimonies to the credits of these honorable individuals, is passing a vote of confidence on the Senior Special Assistant on Students Engagement, Hon. Sunday Asefon and the Minister of State for Youth Development, Hon. Ayo Olawande. They deserve to be awarded and rewarded for all they have done so far. We believe in their capacity to perform and change the existing narratives and the over 40.1 million Nigerian Students are satisfied with their conducts so far.

Ife Oyedele Campaign Organization Denounces False Rumors of Endorsement by President Tinubu, Affirms Allegiance to APC
In response to report by an on-line news medium known as Starnews, regarding a purported endorsement that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR has endorsed Engr IfeOluwa Oyedele as the preferred aspirant in the forthcoming APC primary, the Ife Oyedele Campaign Organization has vehemently denied these rumours, categorically refuting any knowledge of such an endorsement.
The Organisation, in a statement signed by its Head, Media & Publicity, Mr. Yomi Adebayo, stated that these rumours are unfounded and intended to cause disaffection. The report is the handiwork of those of those who are jittery of the growing popularity and general acceptance of our Principal in the face of recent seamless merging of the late Dr Paul Akintelure’s group with the Ife Oyedele Campaign Organisation.
While acknowledging that the convergence of support from various sections of the Party and the generality of Ondo State citizens may have fueled these speculations, the campaign organization stressed that it is unrelated to any purported endorsement by President Tinubu.
The group said, “Engr. Ife Oyedele’s widespread popularity and acceptance stem from the evidence of his unimpeachable integrity, his concrete plans to revitalise every sector of Ondo State and his towering experience.
“We acknowledge that Engr Ife Oyedele is an unrepentant disciple of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under whose guidance and mentorship he designed the beautiful logo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2013.
“Our Principal has continuously demonstrated his commitment to party unity and progress by graciously and in loyalty to the party directive, stepping down in favour of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu during the previous election cycle, despite his obvious leading . These facts coupled with his immeasurable service to the party, instils fear in any aspirant upon entering the contest.”
The group reiterated Engr. Oyedele’s respect for the supremacy of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its leadership, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Emphasizing his loyalty to the party and its principles, Engr. Oyedele’s campaign team condemned the spread of false information and reaffirmed their focus on advancing the party’s agenda and the interests of the people of Ondo State.
“Engr. Ife Oyedele’s track record of selfless service and his steadfast commitment to the APC’s values have earned him widespread admiration and support across the state. As the campaign progresses, we remain dedicated to running a transparent, issue-based campaign focused on delivering positive change for the people of Ondo State,” the group declared.
The group urged the public to disregard the rumours and remain focused on the upcoming election, pledging to continue their efforts for the development of Ondo State and urging voters to choose Engr. Ife Oyedele in the primary elections on Saturday.

The Ifeoluwa Oyedele Campaign Organization has condemned the destruction of posters belonging to their candidate in the 2024 governorship in Ondo State.
As captured on tape today, on Sunday, April 14th, 2024, alarming footage emerged capturing thugs ruthlessly tearing down posters along Airport Road in Akure. These posters belonged to Engr. IfeOluwa Oyedele, a prominent contender in the APC Governorship Primary.

#Ondo2024: I Will Be Sworn In February 2025 – Akinfolarin
– Says Screening Committee Asked Him To Take a Bow Because Of His Antecedents.
The leading aspirant in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Ondo State, under the All Progressives Party(APC), Rt. Hon. Mayowa Akinfolarin, has, again, assured his teeming followers of clinching the party’s ticket at the primaries slated for 20th, April 2024.
In a statement released by Oluwagbenga Ajongbolo, the spokesperson, Mayowa Akinfolarin Campaign Organization, while speaking with newsmen at the media center of APC at the party’s secretariat in Abuja, after his screening, Akinfolarin said he is confident of winning the ticket and leading the party to victory come November. The former lawmaker, who was accompanied to the screening venue by his staunch supporters, said he has what it takes and has done enough to be the candidate of the party in the next Ondo elections.
‘I had a very fruitful and meaningful interaction with the screening committee. As a matter of fact, the committee asked me to take a bow because of my antecedents. And truly, my antecedents are enough to speak for me. To have contested elections six times and won five out of them is a testament of my relationship with my people.’
Responding to questions on the declaration that the number one seat in Ondo is not available for anyone else except the governor, Akinfolarin said he is not bothered about such statement.
‘It is the personal opinion of the governor. He has every right to say the seat is not vacant. However, I am very prepared to take over from him. I will be the next governor of Ondo State come February 2025 by the grace of God.
On the rumour on stepping down for another aspirant, the two-term deputy speaker queried why the most experienced out of the contestants will leave his ticket for another. ‘Look at my journey politically and how I have traversed the political landscape of Ondo State, I am not an aspirant to step down for anybody and I cannot be used. I have enough experience to lead the state. These rumours are not unexpected in election season’
Rt. Hon. Mayowa Akinfolarin, an indigene of Odigbo in the southern senatorial district of Ondo State, was once Chairman, House Committee on Federal Road Safety in Nigeria’s House of Representatives.
