Barely weeks after his installation as the Olofun of Irele Kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Samuel Omapariola Odimayo, Olowomuwagun III, has paid a royal visit to the Jegun of Idepe Okitipupa, His Royal Majesty, Oba Michael Obatuga Adetoye, in a move aimed at strengthening the longstanding relationship between the two neighbouring kingdoms.
The visit formed part of the newly enthroned monarch’s engagements with traditional institutions across the region following his ascension to the revered Olofun stool, which recently brought an end to years of succession disputes and leadership vacuum in Irele Kingdom.
Speaking during the visit, Oba Odimayo expressed profound appreciation to the Jegun for the goodwill, support and friendship he has consistently extended to the people of Irele Kingdom. He emphasized the importance of unity among traditional rulers and the need for stronger collaboration in promoting peace, stability and development across their communities.
The Olofun also sought the continued support and cooperation of the Jegun as he begins a new chapter of traditional leadership in Irele Kingdom.
Responding, the Jegun of Idepe Okitipupa warmly welcomed the royal visitor and congratulated him on his recent ascension to the throne of his forefathers.
Oba Adetoye reaffirmed his commitment to the progress and prosperity of Irele Kingdom, assuring the Olofun of his unwavering support and cooperation.
