“You are not only responsible for what you say, but also for what you do not say.” ~Martin Luther
Something occur to me haven placed keen interest observing how Nigerians ferociously decry lack of good leadership. One would laterally suggest that they’d be appreciative of anyone who promotes and sustains good governance, but rather they’d become hypocritical to achieving the deserving quest in its truest pursuit of society’s growth; yet mendaciously alluding the dearth of all-the-round development to the existence of poor leaders and leadership at the helm of affairs. What do we want!
Again, when opportunity places leaders who parade cognate moral excellence; wearing the face of the society, bearing the burden of social service and speaking the conscience of humanity, also, delivering gains of democracy to constituents and constituency on a real time duty, our people are still at quick ease to demystify such leader. Terrible jokers.
It is so unfortunate that commoners in the Nigerian society have no conscience of their own, whereas, they are direct victims of poor leadership. Self deluded.
Truth be said, Hon. Omogbehin is a man whose political adversaries and arch rivals could and would not deny his stellar record of unprecedented performance even when they’d became so rash and rabid at the slightest reminder to their ears the need to rally support for his second term aspiration.
The masses oriented deliverables that were championed and delivered en-mass to constituents and constituency remain the sins he deliberately and profusely committed, and remained ensconced doing so. Quite commendable.
He was, unwittingly, committing “sin” because he refuted coaxing attempts to key into the mindlessly established sharing tradition of the people’s wealth with a very few individuals.
Often times, one is tempted to exonerate political office holders who engage in sharing what belongs to the masses with big wigs just to ensure re-election bid seamlessly return to the office.
In its truest sense, one cannot help but to ask; what do we really want as country men and women? As a people, how sincere is the desire to achieving a better society?
Fortunately, MAN knows full well the characters of these shadowy persecutors. “They’re familiar strangers on a familiar mission,“ our early morning one-on-one conversations would suggest.
The pundit remains a personal correspondent to courage, strength and disrupt and yet accessibility lacks sophistication. Attending to queries and suggestions from constituents on media platforms and one-on-one. No barrier.
“Ethical leaders never ask for loyalty. Those leading through fear require personal loyalty. Ethical leaders care deeply about those they lead, and offer them honesty and decency, commitment and their own sacrifice. They have confidence that breeds loyalty,” James Comey avid description fits into MAN’s leadership fashion.
MAN would never forcefully demand for loyalty, rather own innate conviction should do the do. It would never occur to an ethical leader to bluntly ask for loyalty.
Those who are critical of him and his style of leadership are whom help had come their way through him. One can easily infer how human nature slips away kind gesture. I make bold to say that, that out of 10 ruthless critics, 9 have enjoyed at least one benefit from the limited benevolence which office of any member of House of Representatives can offer constituents.
The bulging quest of time leaves memories of history for men to dwell on during a dueling time. The time draws nigh than much anticipated. Mike Omogbehin represents the barometer of performance against which succeeding federal legislators would be measured in the federal constituency office of Ikale and Irele Local Governments.
It is true that the verdicts of history arise from matters before the temple of prosperity which public court will resolve. Without any innate prejudice to the would be dispositions of interrogators of history at the turn of future; verdict of history will definitely be kind to Hon. MIke Adeniyi Negwo (MAN) Omogbehin.
This active assertion is premised on the consistent affirmation, by his constituents, the novel performance and first-of-its-kind deliverables he delivered to the constituency.
“Negwo is a good man, truthfully, he has performed so well, ” that is a tone of randomly sampled political adversaries. None has ever disputed his candour to the merits of a second term, but, every now and again, they shunted the second term aspiration when debate arose. Probing why? The responses are shrouded in a long-winded dumbbell tracks.
The above is a clear corroboration of the earlier posturing of the future verdict of history, and, hereby, stated in clear and unambiguous and yet assertive words; “the rare verdict of history favours Omogbehin.”
It is, therefore, not the meat of this piece to discuss elements of these perfunctory praises as such responsibility is left for the constituents to continue to dwell on as effusive nature of time delivers to us moment of history.
I am convinced beyond any iota of doubt that there’s nothing sympathetic to despairing about as MAN is completely enamoured by the joy contained in little beginning.
As the Valedictory Session of 8th National Assembly holds today commemorating end of tenure, Hon Mike Omogbehin remained the game-changer of Ikale/Irele Federal Constituency; an undisputed star material, a valiant, who will never walk work alone.
I’m always humbled by your uncompromising leadership stance and disrupt talent.
