The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State has endorsed Mr. Nenuwa Olusola Rawlings as its consensus candidate for the Irele State Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The decision was reached during a strategic meeting held at the residence of the party chairman, Mr. Rotimi Ademiju, in Ode-Omi, Irele Local Government Area. Party leaders, executives, and stakeholders reportedly engaged in extensive deliberations and consultations before unanimously settling for Nenuwa as the party’s flagbearer.
Announcing the outcome, party stakeholders described the endorsement as a reflection of Nenuwa’s dedication, loyalty, and longstanding commitment to the PDP at the grassroots level.
In his acceptance remarks, Nenuwa expressed deep appreciation to the party leadership and members across all levels in Irele LGA, including ward chairmen, ward executives, and local government officials, for the confidence reposed in him.
He also acknowledged the support of key party leaders, including Hon. Adesanmi Elumaro, the representative of Irele at the state executive council, and Hon. Yemi Tadema, whom he commended for their leadership roles and contributions to the party’s stability in the area.
The PDP candidate further pledged not to disappoint the party, assuring members that he would work tirelessly to secure victory for the PDP in the 2027 elections.
“I will not let the party down. By the grace of God, our party will emerge victorious in 2027,” he stated, expressing optimism about the PDP’s chances in the forthcoming polls.
Nenuwa also paid tribute to a chieftain of the party and member of its Board of Trustees, Chief Eddy Olafeso, whom he described as a mentor and father figure, thanking him for his continuous guidance and support.
Reaffirming his commitment, the PDP candidate declared that the party remains strong and resilient in Irele, adding that its structure and unity would ensure electoral success in the state constituency.
The endorsement marks a significant step in the PDP’s early preparations for the 2027 general elections in Ondo State.
