Aiyedatiwa’s Emergence As Governor A Misnomer, We Will Beat Him Come Nov 16 – Akindele

A leading member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Dr. Adekunle Akindele, has unleashed scathing criticism on the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing the party of abysmal failure in governance since taking over the state. In an interview published in the New Telegraph on Sunday, Akindele also assured the people of the preparedness of the PDP candidate in the November 16th gubernatorial election, Hon. Agboola Ajayi to restore the lost glory of the State.

Akindele, a former Osun State PDP Caretaker Committee Chairman, said “I can describe our candidate, His Excellency, Agboola Ajayi as a politician who has seen it all in terms of governance. If you look at his trajectory, he started as a councilor; he later became a local government chairman, a member of the House of Representatives, and of course, a Deputy Governor of our state. So he has the credential. And one thing that he has going for him is that he is a grassroots politician. This is a man who has never for once lived outside Ondo State, except when he was in Abuja to represent his constituency at the Green Chamber. So I’m very confident that he will do well, because when you live among the people, you understand them, you know their worries and you know what it takes to resolve it.”

“Unlike the APC that brought in Lucky Ayedatiwa. He is an alien. Until now, I never heard about him until he became Deputy Governor of the state. So these are people that do not really have any relationship with our people. And I see them as aliens, and of course, you will agree with me that all their actions and inactions will be geared towards doing the will of their pay masters. So, Agboola Ajayi is a man who is after the heart of the people, and a man that the people are waiting for to make the fortunes of Ondo people better. You see, governance is no rocket science. If somebody has gone through those stages of governance, you should know that this is man that is tested and well prepared to ensure that this hardship in the land, this poverty that they are all going through is at least reduced to an extent.”

While lamenting the state of the health sector , Akindele said “Outside the roads that are bad, I don’t want to go to the health sector in the state where there are few doctors. Infrastructures are dead, most of them, for example, the General Hospital in Okitipupa, doesn’t even have light at night, the doctors can barely work. These are issues that a very responsible and responsive governor should attend to, but he is busy appointing needless and countless numbers of Special Advisers and Personal Assistants. His own agenda for the people are quite different. His coming to power is an aberration and we are hoping that by November 16, we will send him out of the Government House.” he added

  • I’m Ready To Be Vice President If I See Someone Who Will Perform Better, Says Peter Obi

I’m Ready To Be Vice President If I See Someone Who Will Perform Better, Says Peter Obi

A former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has expressed his willingness to consider a vice-presidential role if he finds someone who can perform better than him.

The former Anambra governor stated this in a recent exclusive interview with New Central TV which SaharaReporters monitored on YouTube, claiming that his ambition is to get people to move Nigeria forward in the next general election in 2027.

Answering questions on the possibility of him accepting to be a vice-presidential candidate in 2027, Obi said: “Quite frankly, for me, I’m not desperate to be Nigerian president. I am desperate to see Nigeria work. If I see people who can do the work better, I will (consider being Vice President).

“I even have people who say I should not come out in 2027 and I said to them, offer yourself. And we will not put everybody on a scale.”

Obi insisted that he would not leave the Labour Party but would consider a merger with other politicians if their purposes resonate with his political desire.

He continued: “Yes, I would be here (at Labour Party), and if anybody is coming for us to negotiate or to come together, he must tell me what his purposes.

“I will not join anybody for state capture or for winning the election. I want anybody to tell me how are we going to ensure that no child is left behind, how are we going to put those millions of out-of-school children back in school.”

Meanwhile. the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party), led by Julius Abure, on Wednesday called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the National Security Adviser (NSA) to investigate Obi, activist Aisha Yesufu, Pastor Itua Ighodalo, and leaders of the pan-Yoruba group, Afenifere, for the alleged misappropriation of campaign funds in 2023.

At a press briefing in Abeokuta, the LP’s National Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Arabambi, raised concerns over the diversion of over N12 billion and $15 million in donations meant for the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential campaign.

The party’s leadership accused Aisha Yesufu and Ighodalo of working alongside Obi to siphon campaign donations.

Arabambi described Obi as a “political merchant,” orchestrating the fraudulent mismanagement of funds.

He also criticised Yesufu’s recent public remarks defending herself, dismissing them as attempts to obscure the truth.

The allegations extended to leaders of Afenifere, including Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Akin Osuntokun, and Sola Ebiseni, whom Arabambi accused of retaining over N600 million in private accounts.

The funds, he claimed, were meant for the party’s campaign but were diverted under Obi’s direction.

“We Have Enough To Campaign With Against A Failure Like Aiyedatiwa” – Akindele To Ilutitun PDP Leaders

Former Caretaker Chairman of Osun State People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Adekunle Akindele has decried the abysmal state of governance in Ondo State. He said this while addressing leaders of the three wards in his hometown of Ilutitun Osooro, Okitipupa LG of Ondo State.

“We have never had it this bad since this State was founded. We have a government who has lost touch with realities. The November 16th gubernatorial election affords us the opportunity to return our beloved Ondo State to the right path of economic and developmental recovery. The failure of the incumbent has given us enough materials to campaign with and I can assure you that with a credible candidate in Agboola Alfred Ajayi, whose experience, exposure and capacity to transform the state, coupled with your absolute support will ensure victory for the Party.” he said while addressing Chairmen, vice chairmen, secretaries, youth and women leaders, and 5 leaders each from the Wards.

“We have a winning formula from our education in Osun electoral school of thought and I am certain that if we work with the right strategy and determination, we will win. To get power, you must be prepared and that’s why we will invest in training our agents while sustaining the momentum in all units with regular meetings.” he added.

Earlier, the Ondo South Senatorial chairman of PDP, Elder Fadope thanked Dr. ‘Kunle Akindele for his continued show of support and regular guidance. “Regularly, you have extended hands of support to us and we are grateful for it. We know we can win and we will continue to do our best to ensure we get the best out of the expectations of the masses who are tired of the misrule of the ruling Party.”

The meeting had in attendance the Chairman of the Party in Okitipupa local government, Hon. ‘Dangote’ Adewo, Hon. Sunday Igbasan, Hon. Adele Enikanselu, Hon. Olumekun, Ward Chairmen, vice chairmen, secretaries, youth and women leaders of Ilutitun Wards 1, 2 and 3.

“Adelami Took Bribes To Impose Non-Indigene On Us” – Ondo Community Cries Out

The residents of Erekiti-Luwoye, a community in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, have voiced strong opposition to the appointment of Mathew Kejawa as their traditional leader.

Kejawa, who hails from Ikoya, has no ancestral ties to Erekiti-Luwoye, which the community sees as a critical issue in this leadership dispute.

According to Starnews, the people of Erekiti-Luwoye argued that their community has historically been led by individuals from the Lemegha clan, one of the four founding ancestral groups of the Osooro Kingdom.

They emphasized that Kejawa’s forebears are not part of this lineage, making his appointment unacceptable.

The community has had seven rulers, all from the Lemegha clan, including their late monarch, Kowe, whose leadership was recognized by the state’s Chieftaincy Commission.

Protesters from Erekiti-Luwoye are also accusing the Deputy Governor and the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs of corruption, alleging they accepted bribes to impose Kejawa on the community.

They claimed that the government’s actions are a violation of their traditions, and they refuse to acknowledge Kejawa’s claim to the throne.

Community leaders have warned that any attempt to install Kejawa as their leader will be met with strong resistance.

They demanded that all actions related to the chieftaincy, unless aligned with the Lemegha clan, be halted to prevent unrest.

  • APC Troubled In Ondo State – Ganduje

APC Troubled In Ondo State – Ganduje

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, on Thursday, said late governor of Ondo, Rotimi Akeredolu(SAN) left many problems in the state.

Ganduje revealed this while receiving the leadership of the Kano State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, led by its Chairman, Aminu Garko.

The juncture the former Kano governor said this, is while he was talking about the coming off-session elections in Edo and Ondo states and the chances of the ruling APC.

“For Ondo State, it’s already an APC state, and when the former governor died, he left a number of problems, but we were able to resolve those issues.

“We conducted primaries, we succeeded in getting the person that they want.

“If we win Edo, we will be getting an additional state for the party. It will be 21 states out of 36,” he stated.

Ganduje equally attributed the marginalization of the Igbo to the fact that the five South-East states are governed by different political parties, rather than one, saying: “The North, South-East political zones are all claiming that they have been marginalised. The South-East geopolitical zone is saying the same thing. But what we are telling them is that the marginalisation has been created by them.

“How can you have five states ruled by four political parties? What will be your political bargain?”

  • Peter Babalola Is A Political Parasite, We Tolerated Him – Former Osun PDP Chair, Akindele

Peter Babalola Is A Political Parasite, We Tolerated Him – Former Osun PDP Chair, Akindele

The immediate past Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Dr Akindele Adekunle has stated that the recent exit of Mr Peter Babalola from the party in the state is rather a good omen for the party rather than a loss.

In a statement personally signed by the party chieftain, Dr Akindele described the constant anti-party activities of Mr Babalola during his time in office as obvious but he decided to tolerate it in order to achieve the desired goals. He also referred to him as a political lightweight who has no genuine political followership that can disrupt the party chances at the poll.

“Based on his antecedent, while I was the party Chairman, i have known for long in the buildup to last general election and gubernatorial election that he was not working for the party but I had to tolerate him throughout my stay in the office.

“He pointedly and obviously worked against our candidate then, Dr Lere Oyewumi which was a glaring case of anti-party but I choose to lookaway because he was a political lightweight that has no followers and couldn’t have caused any damage at the poll for our candidates.

“Thank God, he has once again demonstrated that and let me congratulate the members of our party, from the ward, local government, federal constituencies, Senatorial districts and the state at large that a political parasite has finally left the party.”

” I wish to add that the party is not diminished by any way, rather, the political virus that would have corrupted other loyal party members have been dealt a devastating blow.”

“Our commitment and ideals to help His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke to realised his mission and vision of totally transforming Osun State is sacrosanct.”
