#Ondo2020: Olafeso Eulogizes PDP Leaders, Thank Them For Standing Steadfast

Former South West Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and a leading gubernatorial aspirant in Ondo State, Dr. Eddy Olafeso has thanked leaders of the party for remaining steadfast in the face of the lures of money.

In a letter he personally signed, Olafeso reminded the leaders of the Party of how they suffered together after losing the 2016 gubernatorial election. The party had been enmeshed in a wrestle for the ticket with the eventually flag bearer getting the ticket just 2 days to the election.
    Read the statement
    My dear PDP leaders,

As much we would have loved to do this in an elaborate get together, we will have to make do with this means to address you. A means prescribed by INEC and NCDC to curb the spread of COVID-19 in our State and beyond.

While some left us to lick our wounds all alone, you all stood your ground and worked relentlessly for the development of the Party, an act that culminated in our massive victory at the last general elections. It was not an easy ride. We all suffered together and we danced to the song of victory together. It is a known Yoruba saying that “when the pot cooked in silence, interests are minimal, but when the mortal pounds, everyone is attracted”. As much as we are delighted to receive our prodigal sons, we must, however, be careful not to fall into the same ditch twice. Should we encourage disloyalty at the detriment of loyalty? The opportunity to take charge of our Party and ensure that we are not deceived yet again, is here.

We have heard tales of people who believe your loyalty and value to the Party you’ve laboured so much for can be exchanged for pecuniary gains. We have defended you everywhere, though, that you are men and women of integrity and means who turned a blind eye to the lures of power and stood your ground to remain in the party, even while there was nothing to gain in it. For us, we are not alien to you. While there was everything, we were with you and when the tide changed, we never left you.

We’ve reiterated wherever we go that our dear State, Ondo, has no reason whatsoever being in a perpetual state of penury where nothing works. That’s not the Ondo bequeathed to us by our founding fathers. We are too blessed to still be dependent on federal allocations or overtaxing our people. We have resolved to get Ondo State to be financially independent and stable. We will ensure education at the primary and secondary level is free and our schools conducive enough while tertiary education is affordable. A total overhauling of our health care system will be paramount. Urban and rural development will not be left out. There is no way we can ensure a financially stable Ondo with our roads in bad shapes, so we will fix our roads and make water at arm’s length for each and everyone of us. Our local contractors will work again and capital flight will be expunged. In all these, our people will have jobs to do. Ondo can work and we will ensure that when you elect us as your candidate and later as Governor.

My leaders, we have hammered on the collegiate leadership style as the solution to the disconnect between government and the governed. Governance will be returned to the grassroots, where it truly need to be. You will be our ears and eyes. My experiences in the private and public sector will make us hit the ground running. We have been there and knows exactly how it works.

Many have stood before you to canvass for your vote, but I encourage you to be discerning to know those who want to reap where they sowed not and those who will only lead us to failure at the end of it all. The choice is yours to make.

    Thanks and God bless

    – Dr. Eddy Eniola Olafeso

  • #Ondo2020: Thinking Eddy For Good Governance

#Ondo2020: Thinking Eddy For Good Governance

    Dr. Eddy Olafeso
    By TRIANGLE News Media
Power isn’t control at all, power is strength, and giving that strength to others. A leader isn’t someone who forces others to make him stronger; a leader is someone willing to give his strength to others that they may have the strength to stand on their own.
A leader is like a shepherd. He stays behind the flock, letting the most nimble go out ahead, whereupon the others follow, not realizing that all along they are being directed from behind. Dr. Eddy Eniola Olafeso is indeed a great leader who is worthy to be elected to direct the affairs of Ondo State.
In a world laden with numerous structural and ideological inconsistencies, the need to have a good leader cannot be overstated. These leaders don’t just inspire to achieve their fundamental objectives, but they also help bridge the social, economic and political divides. In all, societies become much stronger, bolder, resilient and efficient. That’s what we need in Ondo State and Dr. Eddy Olafeso represents.
He has said it times without number that he is not just campaigning to be Governor of Ondo State on the basis of geography but on competence and capacity, which according to his are his our driving force. And that is how Olorogun Eddy Olafeso is calling on all to come together to make Ondo’s sun shine again.
    Dr. Olafeso, a former DHL
Regional Manager for Africa, is challenging the status quo in Ondo State.  The experiences gathered from past positions held, where visible results were produced without blemish provide the required preparations for his present gubernatorial ambition. He is the kind of man Ondo State needs now to do well.
Having excelled in the corporate world, Eddy decided to pursue his dream in partisan politics. Thus he ended his fifteen years sojourn in the USA and returned home to join the PDP in his Ward and Local Government. He rose to become the State Secretary of the Party and later Commissioner for Information in Dr Olusegun Agagu’s government. He used this position to advance State and people, also established his imprimatur on the political scene. Thereafter was appointed National Coordinator of the Goodluck Jonathan Support Group and he excelled!
Under his watch as National Vice-chairman (South-West), our Great Party, the People’s Democratic Party, dislodged APC government in Oyo   State, to produce Gov. Seyi Makinde. Still, under him, we were able to make tremendous impact in the last Osun State governorship election, until the powers that be subverted the will of the people, by stealing the mandate.
Also in Ondo State, in concert with other dogged stakeholders in the party, his tenure witnessed the defeat of APC presidential candidate, in addition to having two out of three Senators, and three out of Seven House of Reps. members, in the 2019 general elections–All of these happening in an APC controlled State.
Especially now that governance has been restricted to a very minute few in our dear Ondo State, and both the small and medium scale businesses have taken a major hit with the economic policies of the incumbent administration. Olafeso is offering to render generous assistance to the poor and needy as governor.
A PhD holder who would not have been educated if not for the free education policy of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo,  Eddy is not comfortable with kids like him starved of such opportunity again. So, he has offered himself for service to provide free and compulsory education.
He regrets the present challenges in the state, such as capital flight and lack of depth in the resourcefulness of our leaders in recent times. He identifies thee as part of the many reasons responsible for the bastardisation of Ondo State’s economy. Dr. Olafeso has the capability to transform Ondo into a cynosure of eyes, and his abilities are not in doubt.
For him,  for too long, Ondo State have been starved of accountable leadership, and it is one major reason for the stagnation of our agricultural sector. Ondo must use this opportunity to resolve to rescue Ondo State from the cogs of nepotic, villainous despots, who have held us by the jugular for quite too long. There and then we will build the Ondo State of the dream of our fathers.
In all the capacities he served in his life, Dr. Eddy Olafeso left iconic footprints behind. He is a man whose intellectual prowess is in same proportions with his  robust physical stature.
Ondo State today is at a crossroad as the maladministration of the present has wiped off the gains of our recent past! Fortunately, an opportunity to change guards at the Government House beckons and it is a chance that must be taken serious by citizens of Ondo State. This is where Eddy Olafeso is relevant! He has thrown his hat into the ring and offers to provide service to the State and its people. Eddy has impeccable credentials to perform and distinctional experience that will reshape the fortune of Ondo State.
Therefore, it is time for  all good people of this State to support an achiever to impact positively on the life of our dear State that is currently in the vice grip of incompetence, nepotism and burgeoning corruption. We invite all people of goodwill in Ondo State and even beyond to key into this project and help make a new dawn of positivity and progressivism possible in Ondo State.
With these uncommon feats, among several others, we are confident  that he will make a good Governor, any day, any time. For a wholesale reengineering and reinventing of governance in Ondo State, Dr. Eddy Olafeso is your best bet. He is a quintessential party man.
  • #Ondo2020: Former DG of Aketi Campaign Organisation and Top Guber Aspirant Declares for Ife Oyedele

#Ondo2020: Former DG of Aketi Campaign Organisation and Top Guber Aspirant Declares for Ife Oyedele

A frontline APC governorship aspirant in Ondo State and former lnformation Commissioner, Mr. Banji Ayiloge, has adopted Engr. Ife Oyedele as his preferred choice for the governorship seat of the State.

With this development, Oyedele remains the only guber aspirant, so far,  who has received the endorsement of another top aspirant.

Ayiloge, who has been consistent in  airing his disapproval of Governor Akeredolu’s style of governance was the Director-General of Aketi Campaign Organisation in 2012, when the Governor contested under the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

The APC stalwart recently suspended his governorship bid and announced his decision to fuse his campaign structure into Engr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele Campaign Organisation. He based his decision on what he described as “ Oyedele’s character, capacity, humble personality, and for not seeing himself as the only bulb in the room.”

Oyedele, reacting to this development in a statement through his media aide, Yomi Adebayo, said the decision of Ayiloge, has again confirmed that he is a true progressive who understands that government is instituted for the common good of all and not for personal interest. He said Ayiloge has always placed service to the people above personal gains.

“Mr. Ayiloge is a refined and consistent politician. He is one of the quality men that worked for the success of Baba Adefarati’s administration where he served as  Information Commissioner,” Oyedele said.

“Access to information was democratized during his time. This is one of the reasons the government is adjudged till today as one of the few veritable templates for good governance”

The aspirant who said he is deeply thankful to Mr. Ayiloge for considering him ahead of other aspirants of the Party described Mr. Ayiloge’s decision as a huge catalyst and a game changer for his governorship project.

“Mr. Ayiloge’s support is unconditional and I pray that God shall grant him good health to continue to offer genuine services to the good people of Ondo State and the rest of humanity” Oyedele said.

The governorship hopeful reiterated his commitment to a campaign devoid of character assassination and politics of bitterness.

#Ondo2020: We Will Not Impose Any Candidate In Ondo – Secondus Assures Aspirants, As He Welcomes Ondo Dep Gov

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus has assured aspirants contesting for the gubernatorial ticket of the party in Ondo State of a level playing field. Secondus spoke when he welcomed the decamping Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Agboola Ajayi to the party at the Alagbaka, Akure State Secretariat on Monday.

Agboola had resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress(APC) on Saturday, June 20 and thereafter picking the PDP membership card at his Kiribo Ward, Ese Odo LG yesterday.

Addressing the crowd at the event, he said “We will not impose any candidate. Our coming to receive the deputy governor is not an endorsement. We have started the wave of tsunami that will be hitting the APC from here. The PDP is a party that follows it’s constitution to the latter. We are going to provide transparent, free and fair level playing field primary, so that everyone can see who will emerge and work with him.” He said.

“There is no automatic ticket for anyone. We will provide a level playing field for all aspirants. The people that will be sent to conduct the primary will be incorruptible. We are not like the other party. We are democratic and Ondo people have gone through hell. It is time to rescue them and I know they are looking up to us. We must not disappoint them. Come October 10, the people of the State will be freed from the APC and will dance that PDP is back at the helm of the State.” he added.

Assuring the defecting deputy governor of a guaranteed equal right, he told him “Our party doesn’t discriminate. This party doesn’t belong to anybody. You can vote and be voted for.” he said

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose who was also at the event urged Ondo PDP to remain united as the party is poised for victory. “The party must choose right. Victory is already on the table. It is just left for us to pick it. The PDP is a very democratic party that will not allow imposition. Even as a sitting governor, the party still sent someone who told me he had an assignment to do. So, be rest assured that the primary will be free and fair.” he said.

The deputy governor, Ajayi also used the medium to call for the removal of the Commissioner of Police, CP Salami. “My coming to the PDP has exposed the move by the APC to use security to intimidate us. The CP told me government vehicle is APC vehicle. He told me they gave him letter that I was decamping and I queried how that was his concern. He must go” he said.

The event was witnessed by NWC Members, aspirants of the party, Dr. Eddy Olafeso, Barr. Eyitayo Jegede, Otunba Akingboye, BOT Member Chief Segun Adegoke and numerous others.

#DemocracyDay: Days of Glory will Return to Ondo soon – Oyedele

A leading governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State, Engr. Ife Oyedele (FNSE), has assured residents of the State to keep hope alive as days of glory will soon return to the Sunshine State.

Oyedele, who described Ondo State as one of the most industrious States with the most intelligent people in the country, said its diminishing glory will return as the touch-bearer and shinning example amongst other States of the Federation when elected Governor of the State.

In his Democracy Day statement through his media aide, Yomi Adebayo, Oyedele said June 12 is more than just a public holiday but a day that symbolises the spirited commitment of Nigerians to the continuous growth and sustainability of democracy in the Country.

“While Nigeria is celebrating Democracy day, Ondo State also holds a significant place in the history of the Nation as the home of progressive politics where the Action Group was launched in the 1950s.

“For us, we will ensure we take decisions that will position Ondo State at its rightful place as the leading light in development and progressivism,” Oyedele said.

He assured that there will be an unprecedented positive turnaround in the socio-economic landscape of the State.

Oyedele stated that “We are blessed with, arguably, the best human capital resources any Nation can have, waiting to take over the world.  Government must at all times provide the enabling environment for people to thrive”

He commended the people of Ondo State for their perseverance and sacrifice in the face of the present reality of socio-economic hardship and assured them of ” a future fair to all”

The governship hopeful promised that the welfare of the people will be at the forefront of his government when elected as the next Governor of Ondo State.
