The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has rated Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, as one of the 10 foremost institutions in the country with inclusive education and a transparent admission process.
The Institution was also the only state-owned University on the list of honour at the event held at the National Universities Commission (NUC) Auditorium in Abuja on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
The Board particularly praised the inclusive and merit-based admission process of Adekunle Ajasin University and commended the speedy and diligent processing of its candidates.
Presenting the Award Certificate, the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishiaq Oloyede, and the Chairman, Equal Opportunity Group, Prof. Peter Okebukola, urged the University Management to sustain and improve on the feat.
Speaking after receiving the Award Certificate in Abuja, the Chairman of AAUA Admission Committee, Prof. Adebisi Olonisakin, dedicated the award to the University Management for fostering an atmosphere of non-interference, transparency, honesty, and fairness in admission processing.
Flanked by the Admissions Officer, Mr Olusola Bobola, a Principal Assistant Registrar, Prof. Olonisakin said it was heartwarming that the JAMB noticed and had decided to honour the efforts of the University in providing a level-playing field for all admission seekers, even as he gave assurances that AAUA would sustain the record.
