The National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS) Global has commended the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for approving a compassionate scholarship for Maxwell Darasimi Adenitan, son of the late first female Global President of NAOSS, Comrade Ibiyemi Mary Ogunga.
NAOSS Global, in a statement signed by its President, Comrade Alade Temitope Tosin (CODED), and General Secretary, Comrade Agbeni Kehinde Oluwatobi (CAROLUX), said the scholarship followed a special request made during the official flag-off of the association’s Bursaries, Scholarships and Financial Assistance Programme.
The association said the request was presented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Scholarship, Hon. Samad Orijeminiyi, as a fitting recognition of Ogunga’s contributions, sacrifice and service to Ondo State students and the growth of NAOSS during her lifetime.
NAOSS described the governor’s approval as more than a scholarship, saying it demonstrated that service to humanity, sacrifice and dedication to students would not be forgotten.
The association noted that Ogunga occupies a significant place in its history as the first female Global President of NAOSS, adding that her leadership and commitment to students remained part of the association’s enduring legacy.
It also commended Orijeminiyi for identifying the need for the intervention and presenting the request to the governor.
The student body expressed appreciation to Aiyedatiwa for what it described as a compassionate gesture, while praying that the legacy of the late NAOSS leader would continue to inspire generations of students.
