Many Abuja residents have switched to firewood and charcoal as gas hits 2400 per kg

According to the report, many households are complaining as the price of cooking gas has reportedly climbed as high as ₦2,400 per kilogram in some areas, making it harder for families and small businesses that depend on gas for cooking.

The increase is being linked to:

* Limited supply of cooking gas
* High costs faced by gas marketers
* Transportation and distribution problems
* General increase in business costs

Because of the hike, filling cylinders has become much more expensive. For example:

* 5kg cylinder could cost around ₦12,000
* 12.5kg cylinder could cost around ₦30,000 if sold at ₦2,400/kg

Many Nigerians say the situation is forcing some families to reduce how much they cook with gas or look for cheaper alternatives.
